Pirates in the final !

Congratulations and well done to the Pirates for reaching the final of the handicapped singles tournament this year , the boys were brilliant and worked very hard to achieve this . The semi-final went down to the very last leg and was a very exciting contest for all those involved , commiserations to the Newton Knights who were worthy opponents . Sadly in the other semi-final the Trawlers were knocked out by Halwell A , better luck next year guys . The Pirates match against Halwell in the final will be very tough going as they are all very good players and also very consistant .

Will , David and John

Congratulations to our Brixham trio , as they all came home with trophies from the South Devon and torbay table tennis league closed tournament . David White reached the final of the cadets but was beaten by a worthy opponent , he played well but found it tough going against the older, taller, player I an Dummet . Will Denham was runner-up to the same player in the junior event . Last but not least , our old master John Graham won the super-veterans with his push and hit style , well Done John you will no doubt be putting off retirement for a few years yet ! . A good weekend for Brixham table tennis club .

Closed Tournament news

I've just returned from a good day out at Newton Abbot Leisure Centre. Unfortunately I didn't get through any of my rounds - but I still had 100% FUN - and enjoyed myself.
The event was well supported again, and many thanks to Don Beesley (who actually beat me in the Div 2 singles) for a wonderfully organised day.

Brixham were well represented by myself, David White, Will Denham, George Breyley, Graham Holmes, John Graham, John Oatley and a return by Big Dave Adeniji just for the day. Great to see his smiling face again.

Sandra and I kept trying to raid Mick's sandwich box, but he ended up locking it in his car - he's SUCH a spoil sport !

I didn't stay for the final results, but hopefully I'll find out and get them published soon enough . . . byeeeee
