Names . . ?

What's going on here . . .

The Liberal Leader has a name . . Menzies Campbell

but it's pronounced MING

It's like the posh name for Ralph - RAFE

Now what's all that about . . . . you can imagine going down to the pub and saying "Hi, my name's Grant, but it's spelt g r u m p y.

Sam and Joe

Two Brixham club players Sam Carlton and Joe Ridge have improved a lot lately and are looking good bets for the future . Their general all round match craft has got better and they are now more( streetwise ) . After a modest start last year their results are now much better and in all honesty they should be in a higher division next year . Against the pushers, choppers, and prodders in division three they have struggled at times but now both their loops are starting to overcome these tactics , well done lads ! .

Old friends

Robbie robinson arrived at my flat , 18-12-06 , as he does every christmas to personally hand deliver a christmas card . He still walks everywhere and manages five miles a day on average ! , not bad for a man in his mid seventies . He wished the club well and after a very short break he set off on the three mile journey home back to Furzeham . Not all club members will know Robbie but for those that don't ,Robbie , along with Brian Pengelly was a founder member of our club back in 1993. Robbie always played with a hard bat and was a difficult customer to play against ! .

only 2 out of 30 !

The Player Stats have just been published on the South Devon and Torbay Table Tennis web site, and our club is definitely struggling. The only two players mentioned in the ranking top ten of each division are Brian and Ian. That's two out of thirty . . where are we going wrong ?

the Nationals

David White came first in the u-13's regional trials at Oakhampton , his aggressive attack and heavily spun topspin loop making him a difficult opponent to beat , he took all the risks and opened up at every opportunity . He has qualified easily for the national trials at Bristol .
